Attack by Kuki militants continues at Jiri

Jiribam, September 14 2024: Kuki militants continued their relentless attack towards Meetei villages as they launched yet another attack using high calibre guns and bombs towards Mongbung Meetei village on Saturday.

The attack which started around 7:30 pm on Saturday supposedly came from the direction of Mongbung and Seijang Kuki village and was continuing unabated till the filing of this report.

There was no report of any retaliation from the side of Meetei village volunteers despite the relentless firing by Kuki militants.

It may be mentioned that Kuki militants had earlier also attacked Mongbung Meetei village on September 11 and 12 and had burned a Meetei house and primary health centre at Borobekra sub-division in the wee hours of September 13 .
