Dr Dhabali honoured with Life-Time Award

In a significant recognition for Manipur's healthcare, hospitality, and tourism sectors, Dr Thangjam Dhabali Singh, chairman and managing director of BABINA Group of Companies, has been conferred the Life-Time Achievement Award 2025 by Mylai Thiruvalluvar Tamil Sangam (MTTS), Chennai, in association with the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Manipur.
According to a statement issued by BABINA Hospital PR and Media coordinator, the award was presented on Saturday by MU vice chancellor professor N Lokendra Singh in the presence of MTTS founder chairman Dr N Murugan and HIT Manipur director professor Krishnan Baskar during a function held at the Swamy Vivekananda Auditorium, IIIT Mantripukhri.

The award is in recognition of Dr Dhabali's outstanding contributions as a doctor and medical entrepreneur, and promoter of healthcare, hospitality, and tourism initiatives, said the statement, adding that his leadership has significantly impacted healthcare delivery, economic growth and cultural promotion in Manipur and across the region.
The release further stated that Dr Dhabali has established one of the most extensive networks of diagnostic laboratories and hospitals in the region, including a state-of-the-art cancer institute.
His initiatives created employment for over 1,250 professionals and improved access to advanced healthcare services in the state.
According to the statement, Dr Dhabali is also credited with pioneering Manipur's modern hospitality sector through the Classic Group of Hotels, thereby boosting tourism in the state.
He served as the founding president of Manipur Tourism Forum and was instrumental in establishing the Imphal Peace Museum at Maibam Lotpa Ching in 2019 in collaboration with the Nippon Foundation, Sasakawa Peace Foundation of Japan, the Japanese Embassy and the government of Manipur.
The museum commemorates the Battle of Imphal and promotes peace, reconciliation and cross-cultural understanding.
The statement added that Dr Dhabali's career has been marked by numerous accolades for his contributions to public service, entrepreneurship and promotion of sports.
Other awards presented during the ceremony included honours for eminent scientists and outstanding performing artistes.
