Woman bitten by snake gets timely aid at Hanuman Top

Imphal, September 06 2026: A 40-year-old woman from Nongren village, Imphal East received timely medical assistance at the Indian Army medical facility at Hanuman Top on Saturday following a suspected snake bite.

The woman was brought to the facility at around 5.30 pm with complaints of pain and swelling in her left leg.

She was promptly examined by the Regimental Medical Officer (RMO), who provided immediate medical care and assessed her for signs of envenomation.

Treatment included cleaning of the bite site, administration of tetanus prophylaxis, establishment of an intravenous line and immobilisation of the affected limb.

She was kept under observation and her condition closely monitored.

As she required continued observation and specialised care, she was later referred to JNIMS Hospital, Imphal for admission and further treatment.
