NEIDP bats for unity

North East India Development Party (NEIDP) has said that it would support any protests/steps taken up by the CSOs of the State against any attempts by the Union Government to harm or manipulate the territorial integrity of the State.
Speaking to media persons at the party's office at Sagolband Tera Keithel Sapam Leirak today, its vice president Oinam Malesh said that the various communities residing in the State have been guarding the integrity of the State since time immemorial.
However, in an unfortunate turn of events, during the times of the British, the people were divided into hill and valley people and as such the seed of mistrust and hatred was sown among the once harmonious community, he added.
Malesh said that if the Union Government makes any attempt to harm the territorial integrity of the State, the party would oppose the move tooth and nail and also support every steps taken up by the various CSOs of the State.
The party fully supports the resolutions adopted in the one day conference of various CSOs held at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen and will continue to do so in the future, he added.
