Tangkhul duo selected for Miss Asia, Miss World 2022

Ukhrul, May 23 2022: Two Tangkhul girls, Solon Jajo and Solimla Jajo, have been selected to represent Team India in Senior Women Model Physique in different categories (height wise) at the upcoming Miss Asia 2022 and Miss World 2022 .

Solan Jajo of Leishi village (XII appeared, Alice Christian Higher Secondary School) and Solimla Jajo of Kasom Khullen (XII appeared, Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School) are among the eight athletes from Manipur, who secured their respective slots in Team India.

Solan Jajo will participate in the Miss Asia 2022 to be held in Maldives from July 16 to 21, while Solimla Jajo will take part in Miss World 2022 to be held in Singapore or Indonesia.

The two girls were trained at Royal Gymnasium, Ukhrul under the guidance of professional body builder (IBBF) and Mr India Robert Leishangthem.

They were selected during the selection trial held in Himachal Pradesh on May 22 and international judge Nepram Kishan was the coach/manager of the team, said Robert, who is also a Mr Asia finalist.

"A proud moment for me and for the Tangkhul community.

At this hour of joy, I request all the Tangkhul community to come forward and help them financially and morally...Thank you BBAUD, AMBBA and IBBF," wrote Robert on his Facebook page.

Robert is the proprietor of Royal Gymnasium and is also the principal of Ukhrul Central School.

Meanwhile, Katho Katamnao Long (KKL) has congratulated Solan Jajo and Solimla Jajo on being selected for the upcoming international events.

"We wish them the very best in all their future endeavours, " said KKL president Mashungmi Zingkhai in a statement.
