Least vaccinated Kangpokpi notches 40 pc ; TPR Gradual spike continues with 77 new cases

The upward tick continues with Manipur logging 77 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours to take the number of active cases to 320.Already 14 out of the 14 Covid beds available at JNIMS are occupied and 13 out of the 47 Covid beds at RIMS are also occupied.
The number of deaths due to the virus remains unchanged at 2120 .
A slight dip in the daily test positivity rate was recorded as the 77 cases were detected out of 568 samples tested to peg the daily TPR at 13.6 percent.
This is a slight dip from the 15.8 pc recorded on July 13, 15.6 percent on July 12 and 15.5 percent on July 11 .
The 77 new cases, all from amongst the civilians were detected at RIMS (3), JNIMS (5) and other testing centres (69) .
The positive cases are drawn from Imphal East (12), Imphal West (46), Thoubal (3), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (4), Senapati (1), Ukhrul (2), Kangpokpi (2), Churachandpur (1) and Chandel (3) .
Equally worrying is the high positivity rate recorded in some districts.
Kangpokpi which is at the bottom of the vaccination table with only 17.64 percent of the eligible population having received the second dose, recorded a daily TPR of 40 percent as 2 out of the 5 samples tested returned positive results.
Imphal West with 46 new cases out of 212 samples tested returned a daily TPR of 21.7 percent and Kakching 21.1 percent as 4 out of 19 samples tested returned positive results.
No tests were conducted at Jiribam, Kamjong and Pherzawl.
In the last 24 hours altogether 25 persons were discharged from home isolation (19), RIMS (2), JNIMS (1) and Shija (3) .
The recovery rate is 98.23 percent.
With the addition of 77 more cases, the cumulative number of positive cases in Manipur now stands at 1,37,690 including 5014 Central security personnel and the number of recovered cases is 1,35,250 inclusive of 5007 Central security personnel.
On July 13, a total of 2671 Covid doses were administered taking the cumulative dose administered to 29,92,986 including 12,69,466 second dose and 1,22,973 precautionary dose.
Manipur has fully vaccinated (second dose) 53.44 percent of the eligible population till date with the hill districts still lagging behind.
Kangpokpi continues to be at the bottom of the table with only 17.64 percent getting their second jab.On July 13, a total of 99 D Type oxygen cylinders and 19 B Type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.
