SOREPA calls general strike on Oct 15
Source: The Sangai Express

Imphal, October 09 2022: The Socialist Revolutionary Party (SOREPA) Kangleipak has called a general strike all over Kangleipak/Manipur from 5 am to 5 pm of October 15 against alleged colonisation of Manipur by India on October 15, 1949 .

No Nation/community which is not independent can take part in the race for development.

Nations can march forward only when there is individual freedom and National independence, said a press release issued by SOREPA publicity secretary MC Yaiphabi.

It said that the post Second World War neo-colonialism can be understood by studying how India's neo-colonialism based on Hindu feudalism was spread in WESEA and South Asia.

India is a land of Aryans and it does not grant freedom to non-Hindu people, it alleged.

It said that there is a non-negotiable social difference between the Aryan peoples of India and the Mongoloid people of WESEA.

Whereas the Government of India has been forcefully occupying Kashmir, Khalistan and WESEA including Kangleipak, Prime Minister Narendra recently advised Russian President Putin that it was not time for war.

It was an act of utter shamelessness and it only exposed India's double-standard, the outfit alleged.

It then asked whether the Government of India can conceal its undeclared war in Kashmir, Khalistan, WESEA and against Maoist where a large number of people are killed on daily basis and many women are raped.

Since the alleged Indian annexation of Manipur in 1949, the people of Manipur have been fighting for their right to self determination, starting from Lamyanba Hijam Irabot's Red Guard Council.

A public convention held on April 19, 1953 at Mapal Kangjeibung openly declared that Manipur had been forcibly occupied by India, it said.

The Nationalist Revolutionary Party of Manipur formed by Yangmasho Shaiza, Sagolsem Indramani, RK Maipaksana etc presented a vision of a united, independent Manipur to the people.

This led to the rise of revolutionary groups which were based on ideas and principles suitable to Manipur/Kangleipak, it said.

A huge public convention held for three days in 1993 resolved that Manipur was forcibly merged into the Indian Union after the Manipuri king was forced to sign the Manipur Merger Agreement on September 21, 1949 at Shillong in total contravention of the UN Human Rights Charter, covenants and protocols, the outfit continued.

Subsequently revolutionary groups started submission of representations and petitions to the UN and they took the liberation movement of Manipur to the international level.

The outfit alleged that many groups who follow the diktats of Sangh Parivar have been working hard to portray Manipur/Kangleipak as the Mahabharat's Manipur even though they know that there is no truth in it.

In the meantime, the alien rule has been working hard to convert the people of Manipur to Hindus and implant Hindu ways of life among the masses, it alleged.

The leader of the puppet Government has been openly promoting the story of Brabubahan and Chitrangada.

There are many agents or compradors of the alien rule who see no qualms in projecting their own identity in the wrong light just to obtain some personal gains, it alleged.

The Hindu imperialism will collapse and the Government of India would not be able to cover up the annexation of Manipur from the UN if Manipur is not projected as a land of Aryans, SOREPA said.

Even though Gujarat's Junagadh where the population of Hindus exceeds those of Muslims was merged into India after holding a plebiscite, the Government of India has been refusing to hold any such plebiscite in Kashmir where Muslims outnumber Hindus despite the UN's recommendation to this effect, it continued.

Treaties/documents signed between Manipur and other independent countries testified that Manipur was an independent Nation, the outfit asserted.

It then called upon all the people to intensify the liberation movement.

Media, emergency services, medical services and religious activities would be exempted from the purview of the general strike, it added.
