Thangmeiband rallies against weaponised drones

Imphal, September 09 2024: Womenfolk of Thangmeiband took out a torch rally against bombardment of Meeteis using drones and rockets by Kuki terrorists on Monday evening.

The womenfolk, carrying torches, also demanded restoration of normalcy in the State.

The rally started from THAU ground, passed through many areas and concluded at the starting point.

From THAU ground, the rallysists proceeded towards Khuyathong, Nagamapal, Kangla gate and returned to Khuyathong again before culminating at THAU ground.

The rally ended peacefully.

Notably, two persons including a mother of two were killed in a drone assisted bombing at Koutruk on September 1 while an elderly man was killed in a rocket attack on September 6 .

Many quarters have voiced their concern over the deployment of modern technology and rockets to attack Meitei civilians shortly after Chief Minister N Biren Singh announced that complete peace will be restored within six months.
