The United Committee Manipur (UCM) has urged both the Centre and the State Government to spell out the progress of the works taken up to solve the Indo-Myanmar border issues at the earliest.
A press release issued by UCM said that they will continue to press the Central and the State Government to find a solution to the Indo-Myanmar border issue.
Saying that they recently went to Kangpat Khullen, Nambisha and Skipe villages in Kamjong district as the villages complained of loss of land due to border fencing, the UCM continued that there is a risk of the State losing its land furthermore.
Claiming that the loss of land was documented in geo tagging too, the committee urged the people at border areas to inform them if there are any land related problems in their areas.
Reminding that the External Affairs Minister had assured to verify the contested border pillars by October 2021 but the same is yet to be delivered, UCM appealed to do the needful so as to save the land and resources of the State.
Meanwhile, a team led by UCM president inspected 11 controversial border pillars at Kamjong district from March 6 to 8, it added.
