2 Amur Falcons tagged with transmitters

Two Amur Falcons tagged with satellite transmitters were released today at Chiuluan village, Tamenglong along with nine others.
The Amur Falcons were captured by a team of Tamenglong Forest Division and local volunteers under the guidance of Dr Suresh Kumar, Scientist F, WII, Dehradun yesterday from Chiuluan roosting site.
The research programme is being done under the aegis of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
Two Amur Falcons tagged with satellite transmitters were given the names Chiuluan 2 and Guangram with the approval of Anurag Bajpai, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief Wildlife Warden, Manipur.
Chiuluan 2 and Guangram are names of two important roosting villages of Amur falcon in Tamenglong district, Manipur.
These tagged Amur Falcons were released by the Divisional Forest Officer Tamenglong Kh.
Hitler Singh in the presence of Dr Suresh Kumar, RFO Tamenglong Joel Gangmei , chairman and village authority members of Chiuluan village, Rainforest Club Tamenglong members and staff of Tamenglong Forest Division.
Besides the two satellite transmitters tagged Amur Falcons, two Amur Falcons named Riangsuanei and Laisana ringed with [email protected] were also released.
All the remaining seven Amur Falcon were also released.
All the Amur Falcons released today were also ringed with BNHS rings from C58352 to C58362 .
