ILPS movement continues to sway Manipur valley

Showing solidarity to the popular demand for enforcement of Inner Line Permit System in the State, protest demonstrations were staged at different parts of Manipur valley today too.
Speaking to media persons by the sideline of a protest demonstration at Irilbung Keithel, Meira Paibi activist Sanasam Anita asserted that ILPS should be implemented in the State immediately in the interest of the future generations.
Indigenous people of Manipur are being steadily overwhelmed by illegal immigrants.
Indigenous people are now fearful that they would be wiped out totally from the surface of the Earth if the present trend of influx continues for a couple of decades more.
Already, trade and commerce as well as the labour market have been controlled by outsiders.

The Government must understand all the negative impacts of incessant influx and act accordingly.
The Government should act in accordance to the people's aspiration and implement ILPS without any further delay, Anita said.
Even as Meira Paibis of Leishangkhong Kabui Keithel attempted to stage a protest demonstration, police foiled their attempt.
Nevertheless, members of Nungthil Leima Nupi Lup Top Siphai, Thongkhong Keithel Apunba Nupi Lup, Yumnam Huidrom Makha Leikai Apunba Nupi Lup and Yumnam Huidrom Water Supply Nupi jointly staged a sit-in-protest on the same demand at Lakshmi Thong- khong Keithel.
Other places where protest demonstrations were staged today on the popular demand for ILPS are Pukhao, Keibi, Keibi Taret Khul, Sawom-bung, Pungdongbam, Sekta, Sagolband Khamnam Leikai, Nambol Phoijing, Naharup Pangong, Heingang Makha Leikai, Khundrakpam Lai-bung, Kongba Kshetri Leikai, Thanga Chinglak and Laphupat Tera.
On the other hand, students and teachers of Millennium Higher Secondary School, Zenith Academy, St Mark Higher Secondary School and Shishu Nishtha Niketan took out a rally on Tiddim Road demanding implementation of ILPS in the State.
The rallyists who were trying to march towards Chief Minister's official residence was blockaded by police at Kwakeithel.
They held placards that read as 'Implement ILPS in Manipur' and 'Resign incapable political leaders' etc.
Meanwhile, volunteers of Pioneers Club, Khekman and Khekman Meira Paibi Apunba Lup staged a rally on the issue at Thoubal Khekmam late last night, reports out Thoubal Correspondent.
The rallyists shouted slogans like, 'Save indigenous people', 'Resign top leaders' and 'Stop influx of non-locals' etc.
Taking part at the rally, JCILPS Co-convenor Md Kheiruddin Shah concern over delay in implementation of ILPS despite the fact that the matter had already been passed by State Cabinet and Assembly.
A woman rallyist said that people of Khekman are ready to support any agitation initiated by JCIPLS on the issue.
