Following the ban imposed by people of Marangching village, Tamenglong district, all works related with Jiribam-Tupul and Tupul-Imphal railway project implemented under North East Frontier Railway have been suspended.
The villagers imposed the ban since December 24 in protest against the arrest of Marangching youth leader Gongchulung Gangmei and promulgation of CrPC Section 144 by the District Magistrate following a land dispute, informed a source today.
