Imphal, March 27 2011:
An LDC working in Health Department has been suspended for issuing fake certificate with forged signature to a pharmacy.
Moreover, a departmental enquiry has been ordered against the LDC.
A source in the Health Department informed that the suspended LDC is one RK Khellen and the man to whom he issued the fake certificate is one AK Bikram.
After completing B-Pharm, AK Bikram applied to the Health Directorate for a pharmacy certificate for opening a pharmacy at Mekola Primary Health Centre.
However, RK Khellen hijacked the application and kept it away from the official files.
Then he issued a fake certificate by forging signatures of Drug Inspector W Surochana and the Health Director.
As he was not fully convinced about the certificate issued to him, Bikram enquired about the matter with Drug Inspector W Surochana.
The forgery was confirmed when Surochana clarified that she did not issue any pharmacy certificate.
On further enquiry by the Department's top officials including the Director, it was established that the certificate was fabricated by using forged signatures.
Subsequently, LDC RK Khellen was placed under suspension since March 23.Further, due process has also been initiated to conduct a departmental enquiry over the LDC, conveyed the source.
