CBI likely to speed up investigation on Imphal Airport Drug hauls case

Nephew of Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and congress candidate at Wangkhei Assembly Constituency, Okram Henry is likely to face music as CBI team started speeding up the investigation case of Imphal Airport Drug Haul case of January 11, 2013 .
As per source Prime Minister Narendra Modi Government has taken due notice of the cases and have sent the high level team as a first step to crack down on the crimes of this Chief Minister and his government.
It may be mentioned that on April 18 last year, CBI Special Crime Branch, Kolkata filed a chargesheet bearing Number 6 of 2016 by BB Chakravarty, DSP CBI Special Crime Branch for offense punishable under Section 21/25(A)/29/32 of ND & PS Act and under 120(b)/420/468/471 and 506 of IPC against the accused.
On January 11 of 2013, a team of Special Intelligence Unit (SIU) under the supervision of the then Inspector K Ranjit seized seven numbers of unattended carton boxes suspected to contain contraband drugs at Imphal International Airport, which were transported from Kolkata.
Last hearing was held on February 6, but till today no arrest could be made.
On January 17, hearing three of the accused O Henry and the two non-locals whom the CBI Special Crime Branch, Kolkata filed charge sheets in connection with the case did not appear before the Court.
