Imphal, June 04 2015 :
There have been buck passing among major political parties on the conduct of the ADC polls.
State unit president Th Chaoba alleged that Congress used the help of UG groups under SoO and NPF took the assistance of an UG group that has been under 'peace talk' with the Centre, and added that use of money power and muscle power resulted in many unwanted and undemocratic incidents during the poll.
He made this allegation while speaking to media persons in a press meet at the party office.
Chaoba further said that it is very obvious that NPF has been backed by NSCN (IM) and the cadres threatened voters to cast their votes to the party at gun-point.
On the other hand, Congress also went along with Kuki UGs that have been under (SoO) with the state government.
The assaults of the voters of Sadar Hills area by Kuki UG cadres for not giving votes to Congress candidates are good evidences for this claim, he added.
On the other hand, Chaoba , responding to the Deputy CM's allegation, clarified that BJP did not take the help of any UG groups in ADC poll, and added that the allegation put by Gaikhangam was indeed baseless.
NPF forced aspiring BJP candidate of Purul segment of Senapati to contest in the party to win uncontested.
Moreover, Kuki UG groups threatened the wives and family members of five BJP candidates of Moreh thereby forcing the candidates to withdraw their candidatures.
Chaoba blamed the Congress for this carefully choreographed plan and for getting five uncontested Congress winners at these five segments.
The BJP state president said that there are three Kuki-dominated ADCs and three Naga-dominated ADCs in these six total ADCs, and sought explanation from the Deputy CM on the various ploys played by the Congress.
He also said that the state government should not direct the blame of its inability to maintain law and order to the Centre.
He further questioned on the various activities that the ministers of Sadar Hills have been doing together with certain UGs which have been an open secret.
Chaoba also suspected that there must be something fishy going on as Congress claims victory in four ADCs even when it could not release full number of candidates.
He also said that the manner in which re-polls are going to be conducted is suspicious as this may be an attempt to ensure better results for the Congress.
