TYCM initiates discussion on tribal issues

Imphal, April 27 2025: Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM), General Headquarters, convened a joint meeting with leaders of the village authority, youth club, and women's organisation of Chingmeirong Kabuikhul, Imphal, on Sunday at Chingmeirong Kabuikhul.

According to a TYCM press release, the meeting discussed a wide range of issues affecting tribal communities.

Following a constructive exchange of views, the president and general secretary of TYCM-GHQ briefed the leaders oh the suppression of tribal rights and the government's negligence and unwarranted oversight concerning the Directorate of Tribal Affairs & Hills Department, the Tribal Research Institute (TRI), the Manipur State Commission for Scheduled Tribes (MSCST), and the Manipur Tribal Development Corporation Ltd (MTDC).

Leaders of the village authority, youth club, and women's organisation shared their perspectives and highlighted the numerous challenges Confronting the tribal communities of Manipur.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the village authority, youth club, and women's organisation of Chingmeirong Kabuikhul unanimously declared their full support for the issues raised by the TYCM and pledged their unwavering commitment to the cause of the tribal peoples of Manipur.

The TYCM delegation, comprising five Executive Council members, was led by its president Momo Tantanga.
