State still under the shadow of Covid-19

Imphal, August 26 2022:
Though the numbers of fresh Covid-19 cases and daily positivity rate have dropped significantly, the state is still under the shadow of Covid-19 with the health authority unable to bring down the positivity rate below the 1 per cent mark.
On Friday, government bulletins reported 17 new positive cases from five districts out of 532 samples tested in the last 24 hours with a positivity rate of 3.2 per cent.
The 17 fresh cases (8 males & 9 females) are residents of Imphal West (10), Imphal East (3), Churachandpur (2), Bishnupur (1) and Kamjong (1) districts.
Friday also reported 21 recoveries from home isolation (7), RIMS (2), JNIMS (1) and 11 already discharged cases pending for update.
Number of active cases came down to 86, out of which 51 are in home isolation.
No death case was reported on Friday.
The pandemic has so far claimed 2146 lives including seven CAPF personnel and infected 1,39,671 individuals including 5,020 CAPF personnel.
There are 31 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 57 in RIMS.
In the last 24 hours, 34 D-type and 4 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities and 2266 vaccine doses administered on Thursday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 16,27,260, out of which 13,01,027 had received the second dose and 2,38,640 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (49764), Imphal East (32'015), Thoubal (10288), Churachandpur (11261), Kangpokpi (3182), Tamenglong (3496), Bishnupur 9968), Senapati (2545), Ukhrul (3362), Kakching (6971), Chandel (2789), Noney (1173), Tengnoupal (1210), Jiribam (1118), Kamjong (1053), and Pherzawl (476) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (711), Imphal East (517), Thoubal (192), Churachandpur (169), Kangpokpi (70), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (206), Senapati (13), Ukhrul (51), Kakching (124), Chandel (43), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (16), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
