CRPF PRO details Heirok operation, arrest, arms seizure

Imphal, April 20 2025:
In a major joint Operation, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Manipur Police conducted a successful cordon and search operation (CASO) in Heirok, Thoubal district, leading to the apprehension of seven suspected members of the banned KCP-PWG and the recovery of a huge cache of arms and ammunition.
As per a press release from PRO M&N Sector CRPF, the operation was carried out between 1 am and 3:30 am on Sunday.
It involved multiple units including CRPF Sector QAT, Imphal Range QAT, QAT teams from the 69th, 86th and 109th Battalions, detachments from the 66th Battalion, and platoons from the 99th and 103rd RAF, alongside civil police commandos.
The operation was led by CRPF's Imphal Range under the overall supervision of Manipur and Nagaland Sector, CRPF.
The seven individuals arrested during the operation have been identified as Tinku, 28, son of Waikhom Ranjit Singh of Khurai, Imphal East; Riwas, 41, son of Rafique of Porompat, Imphal East; a juvenile resident of Yumnam Huidrom, Imphal West; Angom Bobi, 33, son of Angom Imo Singh of Nongada; Ningthoujam Chaoba Singh, 38, son of Ningthoujam Kulabidhu Singh of Thongju, Imphal East; Leisangthem Tomba Singh, 25, son of L Dasu Singh of Thoubal; and Md Sirajuddin, 45, son of Md Ito of Phoudel Moirangpurel, Imphal East.
The security forces seized a substantial quantity of arms and ammunition, including one INSAS LMG with a sling, two INSAS rifles with slings, one carbine with sling, and one MA3 MAK-II rifle (Chinese AK) with sling.
They also recovered one INSAS LMG magazine, one INSAS magazine, three carbine magazines, one Chinese AK magazine, and one SLR rifle magazine.
Also, the forces confiscated 76 rounds of 5.56 mm INSAS, 69 rounds of 9 mm, three SLR rounds, 13 rounds of .303, and two round chargers.
Other seized items included 11 Android mobile phones, two keypad phones, three radio sets, two radio set chargers, handwritten literature, 38 KCP (PWG) batches, and one SBI blank cheque belonging to Aheibam Justish Singh (Account No 38955467285).Additionally, the operation led to the recovery of one blue Activa scooty, one white Chevrolet Beat (Registration No MN01S 6442), five pairs of jungle shoes, three pairs of DM shoes, two datacables, nine 'pithu', 14 T-shirts, 12 pants, one jacket, one belt, 11 caps, one gas stove, 20 notes of Nepali currency, 34 notes of Indian currency, one Aadhaar card, two identity cards, one driving license, one rehabilitation centre card, one debit card, and four MPA batches.
The seized arms and ammunition indicate potential unlawful activities in the area.
All apprehended suspects and recovered items haye been handed over to the civil police for further course of action, the release added.
