More than 2 lakhs vehicles registered in State

Imphal, July 14 2013: In a population of just about 27 lakhs, the total number of registered vehicles in the State has reached 2,22,234 as on March, 2013 with rapid increase in the number of two-wheelers.

The State has now 1,50,854 two-wheelers and 22,962 cars registered with the State Transport Department.

According to officials of Motor Vehicle Department, the total number of registered vehicles in Imphal West is 1,65,120; 19,205 in Imphal East; 17,355 in Thoubal; 4085 in Bishnupur; 1,937 in Kangpokpi; 2478 in Senapati; 1048 in Ukhrul and 11,003 in Churachandpur.

The total number of registered trucks is 12,530, out of which 7866 in Imphal West, 677 in Imphal East, 849 in Thoubal, 1134 in Bishnupur, 578 in Kangpokpi , 367 in Senapati, 168 in Ukhrul and 891 in Churachandpur.

The total number of registered buses is 2677 out of which 1646 in Imphal West, 198 in Imphal East, 179 in Thoubal, 198 in Bishnupur, 174 in Kangpokpi , 114 in Senapati, 0 in Ukhrul and 172 in Churachandpur.

The total number of registered mini-buses is 1104 out of which in 522 Imphal West, in Imphal East, in Thoubal, in Bishnupur, in Kangpokpi , 0 in Senapati, 1 in Ukhrul and 138 in Churachandpur.

The total number of registered jeeps is 13,443 out of which 10,223 in Imphal West, 660 in Imphal East, 1170 in Thoubal, 281 in Bishnupur, 361 in Kangpokpi , 234 in Senapati, 219 in Ukhrul and 289 in Churachandpur.

The total number of registered cars is 22,962 out of which 18,375 in Imphal West, 2115 in Imphal East, 334 in Thoubal, 380 in Bishnupur, 252 in Kangpokpi , 407 in Senapati, 247 in Ukhrul and 752 in Churachandpur.

The total number of registered taxis is 2298 out of which 1975 in Imphal West, 323 in Imphal East, 9 in Thoubal, 49 in Bishnupur, 0 in Kangpokpi, 8 in Senapati, 2 in Ukhrul and 127 in Churachandpur.

The total number of registered diesel auto-rickshaws is 12,615 out of which 7754 in Imphal West, 1831 in Imphal East, 956 in Thoubal, 1461 in Bishnupur, 175 in Kangpokpi, 425 in Senapati, 45 in Ukhrul and 928 in Churachandpur.

The total number of registered two-wheelers is 1,50,854 out of which 1,14,977 in Imphal West, 12,791 in Imphal East, 12,801 in Thoubal, 1461 in Bishnupur, 175 in Kangpokpi , 905 in Senapati, 353 in Ukhrul and 7391 in Churachandpur.
