Chairman of the City Advisory Board, Child Line, M Laxmikumar who also deputy commissioner of Imphal east district today stressing the importance of taking care child found missing said that if such child are found police should be immediately informed.
The meeting of the City Advisory Board, Child Line convened by its chairman, Laxmikumar on Friday at his office chamber at Imphal district headquarter was organized by the the department of Anthropology, Manipur University, nodal organization, Imphal, Manipur Voluntary Health Association in association with Manipur Mahila Kalyan Samiti.
If a missing child is found by someone or even by the child line, the concern police station should be informed immediately, the chairman said stressing the need of looking after the missing child with special care.
He further said that as a chairman of the City Advisory Board of the Child Line, he will try is best to open a temporary centre of girl child rescue from missing.
He also gave assurance of holding awareness programmes on need of contacting the Child Line (Free Toll 1098) to the voluntary organization, police and others.
If any missing child is found, one can contact to 1098 (free toll).
The number can be dialed from any telephone service providers like BSNL, Airtel, Aircel etc.
He also stressed the need of treating well when a missing child is found and not to threaten or intimidate mentally and physically them while extracting information relating with his/her home, names of parent and guardians etc.
Today's meeting was attended by CMO, Imphal east, Imphal east and west SDPO, representatives of social welfare department, Human Rights Commission, Mahila Kalyan Samiti, nodal organization, collaborative organization, support orgaisations and members and AC to DC, Dr Nevedita, a DPIR handout stated.
