Sugnu school celebrates Children's Day

The Parents cum Children's Day celebration 2013 of St Joseph's School Sugnu was held yesterday at the school compound along with participation by a large number of parents, guardians and well-wishers.
Social Worker Wangshol Kanral Anal and Social Worker and Chief of Lonpi Khunou village Khupmang Haokip graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sugnu Mangi, Commanding Officer of 27 Assam Rifles Sugnu Edward and Sarat Nongmaithem Lecturer of Kakching Khunou College were also present on the occasion as special guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Wangshol Kanral Anal observed that education is the backbone for all round development in the society.

Elaborating on this, Kanral said that students must be given proper education and the students in later life should contribute for the well being of the society.
Educated people should work for the betterment of his fellow beings; otherwise, they are equal to illiterate people.
Kanral also made an appeal to the parents and guardians to be role model of their respective children and wards.
He also released the School magazine called 'School Home Link' .
Rev Sr Nancy, Headmistress of the school, highlighted the overall achievements and progress of the schools during her presentation of the school's annual report.
Rev Fr Mark, Principal of the school, Rev Fr Stephen Touthang and parents' representative Sarat Nongmaithem also spoke on the occasion.
The Chief Guest and the Guests gave away the school proficiency awards to students who excel in different disciplines.
Students of the school presented songs and dances to enthrall one and all on the occasion.
