Awareness programme on Zero Defect Zero Effect

Imphal, April 09 2018:
Directorate of Trade, Commerce and Industries, Government of Manipur in association with ZED Division of Quality Council of India today organised an awareness programme on "Zero Defect Zero Effect" at DIC Porompat, Imphal.
The Zero Defect Zero Effect or ZED certification scheme is a scheme that focuses on micro, small, and medium enterprises launched by Prime Minister.
The aim of the ZED is to develop and implement a 'ZED' culture in India based on the principles of: Zero Defect (focus on customer): Zero non-conformance/non-compliance, and Zero waste: Zero Effect (focus on society), Zero air pollution/liquid discharge (ZLD)/solid waste, Zero wastage of natural resources.
Speaking at the event as chief guest, Director Trade, Commerce and Industry M Luikham said the Zero Defect Zero Effect is a scheme, introduced to produce quality products that have zero effect on environment.
AMEA president Rishikumar Singh said the ZED is to enable the advancement of Indian industry in the global market through production of products that have no defect and again have no negative effect on environment.
Resource persons at the event emphasised the importance of ZED certificates.
The speakers at the event urged the entrepreneurs and manufacturers to acquire ZED certificates to further develop and grow their enterprises.
Deputy Director, MSEM-DI, Imphal D Mitra, AMEA president S Rishikumar Singh, Chairman MIDC P Loken Singh, Director (T,C & I), Government of Manipur attended the event as presidium members.
