JAC refuses to claim bodies of 6 killed by Kuki militants

Following the failure to meet the demands, the Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed in connection with the killing of three children and three women by armed Kuki militants has not claimed the bodies as of Tuesday, despite completion of post-mortem of five out of the six victims.
All six bodies were recovered days after they were abducted by Kuki-Zo-Hmar militants from Borobekra sub-division in Jiribam.
While the bodies of all six individuals have been recovered, post-mortem has only been completed for five.
The body of Laishram Heitombi Devi, which was recovered on Monday, has yet to undergo post-mortem examination.
Speaking to reporters, JAC convenor Y Sanjoy informed that the government in addition to not fulfilling the demands of the JAC had not even issued any statement in this regard till this day.
The bodies of the 6 individuals will not be claimed until their demands are met, he affirmed.
Meanwhile, the body of Kh Athouba of Sorok Atingbi Kamranga, who was shot dead by special commando senior SP Sanjenbam Nectar on November 17 has been taken to Silchar Medical College for the post mortem, while Keisham Bison of Jiribam Bidyanagar, injured in the same firing incident, has been shifted from Silchar Medical College to Guwahati.
