Tousem gets another vehicle

Tamenglong, August 21 2014: Tousem, the most backward sub-division of Tamenglong district on Thursday got another vehicle from the district administration for the purpose of travelling to and fro between Tamenglong district HQs and Tousem Sub- Division.

The first vehicle (passenger bus) was given to Tousem Students' Union by Thaithuilung Pamei, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Tamenglong in 2006 for plying between Tousem HQs and Tamenglong district HQs.

The second vehicle - 'Shaktiman' Registration No.MN0- C3621 was handed over to TR.

Ringthengning, President of Village Authority Chairmen Council (VACC), Tousem Sub- Division who will maintain the vehicle in the interest of the general public of the sub- division by C.Arthur W, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Tamenglong in the presence of Kajaigai, Assistant Commissioner of Tamenglong, P.Sana Singh, SDO Tousem and members of VACC Tousem.

The vehicle was said to have bought with donation made from 16 villages of Azuram Range and Tousem Range under Tousem Sub- Division, C Arthur W, IAS Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong, P Sana Singh SDO Tousem and local MLA Z.Kikhonbou at a cost of Rs.6.4 lakh.

Ringthengning, Chairman of Taningjam village Authority and President of Village Authority Chairmen Council (VACC) Tousem Sub- Division expressed his sincere gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong understanding the hardship faced by the people living in the remote sub-division and providing a vehicle to solve the problem.

He also thanked P Sana Sing, SDO Tousem, for his assistance in this regard.

"Though you gave only one vehicle today, we assumed that we are receiving more than 10 vehicles.
