Bishnupur, May 30 2023: Local clubs, organisations and meira paibi associations in Moirang came together to form 'Peace & Protection Committee, Head Office Moirang" yesterday during a meeting held at Moirang Patlou Mandop.

The Committee was constituted in a bid to safeguard the people of Moirang against the violent acts of Kuki militants as well as to restore normalcy.

Aside from this, an ad hoc committee was formed with Hemam Sotojit Singh as the interim convenor and Moirangthem Shantikumar Singh as the co-convenor.

The Committee also intends to facilitate smooth coordination among the public in carrying forth their protests, quelling the spread of rumours and communicating existing problems to the relevant authority and seeking practical solutions.
