Imphal, April 20 2025:
In continuation of the series of public meetings at the local level initiated by Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) since April 16 discussion sessions on the topic 'Leibak Meeyamgi Meepham: Manipur crisis Na Chahi Ani Pharakpa' were held at Lamphel Sanakeithel, Lilong Chajing Awang Leikai, Sawombung, Tendongyang, Loitang Khunou and Khamaran community halls on Sunday.
Speaking at one of the meeting venues, COCOMI convener Khuraijam Athouba cautioned the public that the Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists, emboldened by the alleged support of government of India for the past 19 years, are doing whatever they like after occupying the hill areas and provoking the Meeteis to wage war.
While pointing out that many youths took up arms to defend the land and the Meetei people from the Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists, Athouba contended that despite constructive suggestions made from the people to end the war, the government of India is showing no interest in resolving the crisis and according importance to the people's voice.
Accordingly, it is pertinent to discuss the crisis threadbare and take a collective decision of the people, he stressed.
According to Athouba, decisions taken during the series of local-level public meets being held at different places will be dissected during the mega public meet to be held on May 3 and a final resolution of the people adopted on the crisis.
