55 CAPF personnel among 155 new cases in state

Imphal, January 13 2022:
After crossing the 200-mark on Wednesday with a positivity rate of 8.6 per cent, the state on Thursday reported 155 fresh cases out of 2610 samples tested in the last 24 hours registering a positivity rate of 5.94 per cent.
No death case was reported on Thursday and the fatality toll remains at 2012.In all, 34 patients were discharged from home isolation (29), RIMS (1), JNIMS (1) and CCCs (3) in the last 24 hours while active caseload rose to 857 out of which 227 (26.49 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availability in hospitals and Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, 10 reported fresh Covid cases on Thursday.
So far, the state has recorded 97,305 positive cases and 1638 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 917 new positive cases and 10 fatality.
The weekly number of new cases and fatalities have also rose to 741 and 3 respectively.
According to official reports, the 155 fresh cases include 100 people (47 male & 53 female) from among the general population and 55 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (1), JNIMS (63) and other testing centres (91) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (12), Imphal West (28), Thoubal (7), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (1), Noney (1), Ukhrul (6), Senapati (2), Chandel (12) and Churachandpur (27) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,26,705 (general population - 1,22,071 and CAPF personnel - 4,634) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,23,836 (general population - 1,19,402 and CAPF personnel - 4,434) and number of active cases is 857 (general population - 662 and CAPF personnel - 195).The recovery rate is 97.74 per cent.
A total of 153 D-type and 9 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 6570 vaccine doses were administered on Wednesday and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 13,52,819 out of which 10,14,455 have been vaccinated with second dose and 2,776 with precautionary dose.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (44,462), Imphal East (28,124), Thoubal (9546), Churachandpur (10,311), Kangpokpi (2802), Tamenglong (3289), Bishnupur (9272), Senapati (2280), Ukhrul (3030), Kakching (6472), Chandel (2437), Noney (1097), Tengnoupal (1080), Jiribam (1049), Kamjong (990) and Pherzawl (464) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (675), Imphal East (482), Thoubal (179), Churachandpur (163), Kangpokpi (63), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (195), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (45), Kakching (116), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,833 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 25,927 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,78,876 tests per million population against the national average of 4,97,812 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.59 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 2610 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 5.94 per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.53 per cent.
