Imphal, October 11 2021: All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) and Coalition Against Drugs And Alcohol (CADA) have condoled the demise of Wangkheiyam Rimakan, Secretary Information & Publicity of AMSU Mayai Loishang.

As per their statements, Wangkheimayum Rimakan passed away due to an illness on October 10 at Apollo Hospital, Guwahati.

AMSU has stated that W Rimakan who was born on 17 October 1994 at Uripok Sinam Leikai, became a member of AMSU from 2013 and subsequently held the office of assistant secretary, joint secretary and vice president of AMSU Imphal District Committee from 2015 onwards.

CADA recalled W Rimakan as a major proponent of bringing about an education system that prioritises quality education in Manipur.

He was a tenacious young man who stood for truth and welfare of the people, the statement added.
