Imphal, September 06 2026: A one-day consultative workshop on "GIS-based Master Plan for Mayang Imphal town for horizon year 2046" under AMRUT 2.0 was organised by Mayang Imphal Municipal Council at Khuman Multipurpose Hall, Mayang Imphal Thana Awang Leikai.

The workshop was attended by Mayang Imphal AC MLA Kongkham Robindro Singh, caretaker Chairperson of Mayang Imphal Municipal Council Asem Radhamani Devi, Chief Town Planner, Town Planning Department Manipur N Benju Singh and Member of High Level Committee on Urban Planning, India, Nepram Gitkumar as presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, Kongkham Robindro said Mayang Imphal is the first in Manipur where work has started to develop it as a developed city.

He said although large areas of Mayang Imphal are low-lying and waterlogged, efforts will be made to build a good township.

He said efforts will be made to make Mayang Imphal AC a model constituency by developing roads connecting it with neighbouring constituencies in a timely manner.

Councillors, stakeholders and CSO representatives also took part in the workshop.
