ST Morcha BJP Ukhrul extols PM Modi

This year, the period from May 30 to June 15, marks the fortnight-long celebration of the successful completion of 8 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in power.
Joining the rest of the country in honouring the historic political journey of Modi, the ST Morcha BJP of Ukhrul district gave 'gramercy' to the man at the helm for reaching out to the poor citizens of the country with a myriad of welfare policies and benefits under his beloved theme of 'Sewa, Sushashan and Gareeb Kalyan' (service, good governance and welfare of the poor).
The district's ST Morcha BJP recalled various prime achievements of the Modi government in the past eight years in office during a news conference held at Chingai Mandal BJP office, Kamphasom in Ukhrul town on Monday.
The press meet was attended by Ukhrul district BJP vice-president Wungtam Zimik, ST Morcha BJP Manipur spokesperson Nobert Khayi, ST Morcha BJP Ukhrul president Thanreingam Pheiray, ST Morcha BJP Chingai president Leishingam Zimik and Mahila BJP Chingai vice-president Pheomila Horam.
"Today, as the nation celebrates the completion of eight years of Modi government, we thank our Prime Minister Modiji for the immense dedication he has shown towards uplifting the lives of the poor during the period", said Nobert Khayi.
He said that there are practically uncountable number of government policies and schemes that PM Modi initiated for the welfare of the poor during the past eight years of his government.
He expressed gratitude to PM Modi particularly for the government schemes that have benefited the people of Ukhrul district.
The schemes included Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, Atmanirbhar Bharat, Garib Kalyan Yojana, Start Up India, PM Kisan and Atal Pension Yojana to name a few, he said.
"It was in the midst of Covid-19 that Modi's administration started a nation-wide vaccination drive during which more than 193 crore doses of the Covid vaccine were administered which is commendable", he said.
He also lauded the Modi government for undertaking the twin rescue operations for evacuating Indians stuck in Afghanistan (after the Taliban seized over the country) and in war-torn Ukraine.
Speaking during the press meet, Wungtam Zimik, who is also ST Morcha Ukhrul in-charge, said that the successive landslide victory of Modi since 2014 is praiseworthy.
Stating that PM Modi launched free ration provision for the underprivileged section of society during the first phase of Covid-19 pandemic, he said "this scheme was subsequently extended for another six months till March 2022 during the second phase, providing free ration to 80 crore people each month".
The government brought Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir into the mainstream by abrogating Article 370 .
Similarly, understanding the sentiments of the farmers, PM Modi dropped the unpopular farm laws, Wungtam Zimik said.
He continued that PM KISAN is another scheme, which benefited the poor farmers of the district by providing them with Rs 6,000 annually in three instalments of Rs 2,000 each.
In the same vein, Thanreingam Pheiray expressed gratitude to both PM Modi and Manipur chief minister N Biren for initiating various schemes and bringing them to the people of the district.
Among the key schemes being taken up in the state under the BJP government are CMHT, Startup Manipur, Lairik Tamhallasi among others, which have greatly benefited the people, he said.
