POL depot survey concludes, 35 acres of land required

The survey work for the construction of Petrol and Other Lubricants (POL) depot at Malom under Imphal West district has concluded and an estimated area of 35 acres of land will be required for its construction.
An executive summary report has also been submitted by the Delhi based Mantec Consultant Private limited to the IOC Head Office.
According to the executive summary report of the POL Depot which was submitted to the IOC, the POL Depot which is to be constructed in Malom is 8 km from Imphal town and 2 kms away from Tulihal Airport.
The topography of the area is a flat surface.
It is 775 meters above sea level.
According to the report, the project will be done in two phases.
In the first phase, Motor Spirit, High Spirit Diesel and Superior Kerosene Oil will be transported on road through oil tankers which will be supplied by Tinsukia refinery and NRL.
The area will be surrounded by chain link fencing of 1.8 metres in height.
There will be a main gate of 8 metres wide for every lane.
There will also be a CCTV camera installed, the report said.
