Imphal, June 12 2020:
CROC Manipur's 30-day free shelter home/detoxification camp has helped diagnosed 20 drug users for Hepatitis C and five positive for HIV/AIDS, said officials.
The cases were detected from inmates (drug users) at the Sanity Foundation, Patsoi Part-I, Imphal West, Punshi Rehab Centre at Yumnam Khunou and Epa Ebungo Mid-Day Home and Income Generation Centre at Loitang Khunou, said convenor CROC Manipur, RK Nalinikanta.
Community Response on COVID-19 (CROC) Manipur is a conglomerate of several NGOs engaged in rehabilitation of drug users.
The camp was initiated with an aim to mitigate and minimise the spread of coronavirus among the public in general and the drug users community in particular, he said.
