Salai Holdings Pvt Ltd assures aid and support for destitute family

Salai Holdings Pvt Ltdhas announced that the firm will provide all necessary support to a young boy who was left behind by both his parents at a young age and who has been living with his grand parents before misfortune struck him again after all the land belonging to the household were also sold off for a medical treatment.
The announcement was made today during a visit by the Board of Directors of Salai Holdings Pvt Ltd to the family which is now settled on a khas land at a locality of Moirang.
The visiting team provided emergency assistance apart from promising to provide future aid and support to the family as well.
The parents of the young boy who is around 14 years of age now, abandoned him while he was just around 3//4 months old.
Ever since then, the boy has been living with his grand parents.
However, disaster struck again when he got involved in an accident when he was 7 years old and suffered complications in his urinary tracts, for which the family had to sell off all their land for the necessary treatment.
However, this was not the end of his misfortune as the young boy's grandfather, who is around 73 years old, suffered a stroke and has been bed ridden ever since.
The family now lives on a small khas land and the boy's grandmother, who herself is 68 years old, is the sole bread earner of the family and sells liquor as a means of livelihood.
Speaking to media persons, Meinam Somorjit, member of Salai Holdings Pvt Ltd board of directors, said that the visit today was organised under the direction of the company's Chairman Narengbam Samarjit (who is in Dubai On a business trip) following a- news report by ISTV News which showed the hardship faced by the said family.
Somorjit continued that apart from bearing the expense for the treatment of the boy, the firm will also make necessary arrangements to make sure that he gets free education and free boarding stay at Smart Universal Academy, Sekmaijin, till class XII.
Salai Holdings Pvt Ltd will also provide necessary support to him in his aim to pursue medicine as a career, Somorjit added.
He further explained that the firm will launch a seven day campaign for garnering public support from the people to procure a land for the unfortunate family and added that Salai will take responsibility for the treatment of the young boy's grandfather.
Salai will also make arrangement for the boy's grandmother to take up another profession instead of selling liquor, apart from providing Rs 5000 every month to the family as well, he added.
