CLS, IIE hosts 'Cyber Law' awareness programme

Imphal, February 19 2026: The Center for Legal Studies (CLS), Ibotombi Institute of Education (IIE), successfully organised a 1-Day Legal Awareness Programme yesterday on the topic, "Cyber Law and How to Report It".

The event was held in collaboration with the District Legal Service Authority, Imphal West, under the aegis of the Manipur State Legal Service Authority.

The programme, held at the Seminar Hall of the IIE, aimed to educate staff, invitees, and student-teachers about cyber laws, common cyber crimes, and the proper procedures for reporting such offences.

The event was graced by dignitaries, including Dr Md.Rabi Khan, Principal, CLS, IIE; Dr RK Bijen Singh, Principal, IIE; and Laishram Jagajit, Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel, Imphal East.

During the session, legal experts highlighted various forms of cybercrime prevalent today, such as online fraud, identity theft, cyberbullying, and the misuse of social media platforms.

Participants were also informed about the legal remedies available to victims and the crucial role of legal services institutions in providing free legal aid.

The awareness programme concluded with an interactive open discussion session, followed by a formal vote of thanks.
