Residents of Liwa Naorem Leikai and its surrounding today have expressed doubt of the gang members who are behind the handing over of Khwairakpam Megha to Assam Rifles link with the murder of the Junior Sub-Editor of the Imphal Free Press, konsam Rishikanta.
However, when Hueiyen Lanpao contacted with the Imphal west SP, L Kailun, he said that interrogation to the men involved in the abduction of Megha are undergoing to know that had they done in the pass but no question related with the murder of the junior sub-editor is yet to ask on them.
Mention may be made that the clue behind the murder of Konsam Rishikanta by the unknown on November 17 last year at Langol near the Second Home of Sangai is yet to find out even though police are investigating into the case.
Meanwhile, a house cum shop of one Soirensangbam Shantikumar allegedly involved in handing over of Megha to the Assam Rifles has been burnt down by the local people this morning.
The incident occurred after one Muslim who came to meet with Sanathoi who was allegedly involved in the abduction of Megha this morning was found with SP-Capsule at his possession when checked.
The man in question informed the people who caught him that he came to give the capsule to Shantikumar.
He was later handed over to volunteers of AMADA.
The residents who burnt down the house cum shop alleged that the structure has been used in selling SP-capsule for a long time.
But they did not caused damage as they decided not to touch it until Shantikumar involvement in the abduction of Megha is known.
