Time to heal wound, not fling accusation: CM

Chief minister N Biren held an interaction programme with some youths, who underwent training in hospitality sector under the 'Hunar Se Rozgar Scheme' and perfumery at Hindu College, Delhi, at the CM's secretariat, here on Monday.
The interaction programme was jointly organised by the Tourism Department and Textiles, Commerce and Industries Department.
Under the Hunar Se Rozgar Scheme of the ministry of tourism, about 400 youths have completed or are undergoing training, with 169 of them, including 78 in the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) category, already securing placements in key cities.
Under the scheme, 30 more youths, including 15 IDPs from across the state, took part in a three-week perfumery training programme at Hindu College.
Youth from different districts, who had undergone training and secured job placements, shared their experiences during the programme and appreciated the chief minister and the state government for the initiatives taken up for them.
Speaking to the youth, CM Biren commended deputy commissioners (DCs) of different districts and department officials for dedicated service and judicious implementation of training programmes for the youth.
Expressing elation over the opportunity to interact with the youth of different communities after one and half year of the unprecedented crisis, he expressed confidence about development of the state with proactive involvement of the youth in diverse sectors.
Stating that in different phases of life people face challenging situation, the chief minister stressed the importance of overcoming all the hurdles through determination and willpower.
People of Manipur have been facing hardships due to the crisis, but by God s grace, affected people have started returning to their original places, he maintained while emphasising that focus should be in bringing peace and healing the wounds, rather than blaming one another.
Expressing satisfaction with the youth's spirit to work for a decent livelihood, the CM announced that financial assistance of Rs 50,000 each would be extended as seed money to those had undergone training in perfumery while informing that further assistance could be availed under the 'One Family One Livelihood' Scheme or Start Up Manipur, based on their growth.
Biren informed that the government would also provide a one-time support of Rs 5,000 to assist trained youth in settling in their places of employment in different cities along with assuring that a special flight will be arranged for those who secured job placements in different cities, and he himself would see them off at the airport.
Continuing his speech, the CM observed apparent lack of general information related to welfare schemes and advised the youth to inculcate habit of seeking information.
Biren also reflected on various initiatives of the government for people staying in relief camps and expressed his desire to cover all districts in providing training to youth, with priority to those staying in relief camps.
He appealed to the public to refrain from violence and stressed the need to resolve every problem through peaceful means.
Extending his best wishes to the youth, he asked them not to be swayed by emotions, as they are the pillars of future generations.
Ministers, MLAs, senior government officials, DCs, officials of the tourism department, and the trained youth attended the interaction programme.
DCs and trained youth from Tamenglong, Churachandpur, Senapati, Ukhrul, and Kangpokpi districts also attended the programme via video conferencing.
During the interaction, DCs also spoke about livelihood programmes and other initiatives taken up in their respective districts.
