Assam Rifles observes Friendship Day to strengthen peace and unity in Manipur

Assam Rifles conducted Friendship Day with fanfare and publicity on August 2 & 3, 2025, across various villages in the Sehlon area of Chandel District, Manipur.
According to a release issued by the IGAR (South), the two-day celebration was a vibrant testament to the enduring spirit of camaraderie, peace, and mutual respect between the troops and the local communities.
The event featured a delightful array of activities designed to strengthen social bonds and promote unity.
A friendly volleyball match between the Rifle Women of Assam Rifles and local women showcased not only synergy but also the empowerment and solidarity of women in uniform and civil society.
A spirited football match between local youth and Assam Rifles troops added to the festive atmosphere, encouraging teamwork and healthy competition.
To inspire the younger generation, a motivational movie screening was held, emphasizing the value of true friendship and emotional resilience.
Students enthusiastically participated in a friendship band-making competition, crafting colorful and meaningful bands that symbolize trust, affection, and togetherness.
Adding a green touch to the celebrations, Assam Rifles organized a tree plantation drive under the theme "Ek Ped Dosti Ke Naam." Troops and villagers, including children, planted saplings together - each tree representing a bond of friendship, sustainability, and hope for a harmonious future.
