Poula is as old as Poumai Tribe: MLA Alexander

MLA Dr..VAlexander Pao on Tuesday lauded recognition of Poula for Manipur Board text book by State Government during the inauguration of a two-day long workshop on Poula Text books which was organized by Poumai Naga Union (PNU) .
Gracing the two days workshop at TNK Senapati Village starting from 1st to 2 October, 2013, 47 Karong A/C Dr Alexander, who himself is a double Doctorate, particularly praise Education Minister Okendro Singh who live up to his assurance given to Poumais.
Stating that it is another milestone achieved after the recognition of Poumai Tribe in 2003, the MLA called upon the younger generation to adapt to Poula and preserve their identity rather than focusing only on other foreign languages.
With an objective to improve the existing Poula text books through review workshop, the programme was moderated by H.Luny Justin, Vice President PNU.

Lohrii in his keynote address attributed appreciation to initiative of the State Government, Education Minister and former Minister DD Thaisii to recognize the Poula text books.
The Poumai leader also extended special gratitude to Poula scholars and particularly Miss Khoru whose works are now utilized in the Poula text books.
Setting the target to expand the use of the Poula text books to Class X level, the PNU President stated that, the PNU will implement the Poula till class X by 2015 .
The two days Poula text books workshop was graced by attendance of eminent Poumai elected members including ADC members, scholars, literature committee members, Poula writers, Poumai Students, Poumai Women, Zonal leaders, Village leaders, Poumai Naga Baptist Association leaders, Poumai Naga Union, NPO leaders, Educational heads, PNCM and others.
The two days workshop which concluded today was animated by the review committee consisting of five groups from PNBA, PNCM, LNU, CNU and PC.
The expected outcome of the workshop will be recommendation and approval from the review of the workshop for publishing revised Poula text books.
