Bunkers dismantled; arms, ammos seized

Imphal, May 27 2024:
Assam Rifles troops demolished three bunkers during an area domination patrolling in general area of Waroiching, Leimaram and Irengbam villages in Bishnupur district on May 25 .
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that dismantling of the bunkers has thwarted nefarious design of inimical elements as these bunkers could have been used by miscreants to disturb law and order in the region.
The security force has been taking wide ranging measures to ensure security and well-being of the people, said the PRO.
Meanwhile, a combined team of Assam Rifles and Leimakhong police station recovered arms, ammunition and other war-like stores from Kharam Vaiphei village in Kangpokpi district on Monday.
According to a release, the combined team conducted operation based on specific information consequently recovering one each .22 rifle, 9mm pistol, 7.65mm pistol, and 54mm improvised projectile launcher, two improvised mortars, two stun grenades, huge cache of live ammunition and other war-like stores.
The recovered arms and ammunition have been handed over to Leimakhong police for further proceedings, it added.
