120 IDP families shift to Langol facility

A total of 120 families displaced from Moreh town, Churachandpur town and Phougakchao Ikhai village have shifted to the newly constructed alternate housing complex at Langol on Friday.
In a series of updates shared on X (formerly Twitter), chief minister N Biren provided details on relocation of the internally displaced persons (IDPs) and the progress of other projects.
In one of his posts, CM Biren highlighted the shifting of 120 displaced families, totalling 460 individuals, from Moreh, Churachandpur and Phoubakchao.
"As a part of our ongoing efforts to support and rehabilitate the displaced fam ilies, the IDPs have begun moving into the newly constructed alternative housing complex at the National Games village, Langol," the CM shared, affirming that the government remains committed to "the rehabilitation and well-being of every displaced family" .
Alongside this effort, the CM also announced the completion of a working women's hostel at Pettigrew College, in Ukhrul district.
He said that that two other projects at Pettigrew College, including a new Girl's Hostel and a Science Block, are currently under construction, with funding support from the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) and Manipur OBC, SC, and Economically Backward Classes Development Society (MOBEDS) .
