Mass vaccination, testing drives continue

Imphal, July 25 2021:
113 Bn BSF in coordination with CMO Loktak Downstream Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited conducted a mass vaccination programme on Sunday at Loktak HEPA.
Altogether 80 people were administered COVID-19 vaccine during the mass vaccination programme conducted under the initiative of battalion commandant Hidam Subol.
As part of the programme, the battalion imparted awareness on COVID-19 to the people of Upokpi, Toupokpi, Kha Potshangbam, Nachou and nearby villages using loudspeaker.
The battalion also distributed face mask and hand sanitizer to local clubs and organisations as part of the programme.
Under the aegis of Lamlai Kendra Covid-19 Awareness and Enforcement Committee chairperson A Jamini, Takhel Sanjenbam GP pradhan M Ningthem and Covid-19 Second Wave Fighting Task Force BJP Lamlai Mandal chairman Kh Ibomcha; Takhel Covid-19 Task Force and District Administration, Imphal East conducted mass vaccination programme for the third time at Takhel community hall on Sunday.
In all, 350 people were administered Covid-19 vaccine during the programme.
On the other hand, Nongpok Kakching Bright Star Union conducted a mass Covid-9 testing drive at Nongpok Kakching.
Out of the 340 people tested, 29 were found positive for Covid-19 .
Meanwhile, JDO along with District Administration, Jiribam and Health Department continued mass testing programme at Leingangpokpi village.
JDO volunteers also inspected mass vaccination programme conducted in several parts of Jiribam including Kamaranga, Lalpani, Rashidpur and Champanagar and also organised awareness programme on Covid vaccination.
