Foundation Day of SHEIPAL observed

Imphal, August 22 2021: The 15th Foundation Day of Sheihek Sheireng Sheipal Shemgat Lup (SHEIPAL) was observed virtually today.

President of SHEIPAL, Dr Athokpam Kholchandra and vice president, Kshetrimayum Subadani attended as the presidium members and secretary, KC Gita delivered the welcome address and spoke on the significance of the day.

During the event, two minute silence was observed as mark of honour to departed members of SHEIPAL and prayed for the peace of departed souls.

Editor of Sheipal, Rakesh Naorem, former secretary IC Ashem and Okendro Khundongbam spoke on the activities conducted by SHEIPAL and its future programmes.

Speaking on the occasion, KC Gita said that the foundation day is held in a low key manner due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The Lifetime Achievement Award and Dr Mayengbam Kamala Sheirol Mana for this year will be presented once the situation of COVID-19 improves, she added.

She further stated that the compilation of lyrics which is to be published by SHEIPAL will be based on patriotism this year and requested the lyricists to submit lyrics of 6 patriotic songs along with their bio data for the same.

As a part of the programme, the members of SHEIPAL read out patriotic poems and songs.
