CM dedicates projects in Senapati, promises more

Senapati, October 21 2022: Chief minister N Biren Singh inaugurated and laid foundation stones of various development projects at Senapati district headquarters on Friday and revealed that there arc plans to develop Senapati comparable to Nagaland capital Kohima.

At the formal function organised by the Senapati district administration at Senapati public ground, the chief minister inaugurated a mini outdoor stadium con structed at a project cost of Rs 725.87 lakh under NEC at Senapati public ground; a sub-treasury office at Tadu-bi; an open gym at Senapati public ground; UCO Bank.

Phaibung Khullen branch: model Anganwadi centre buildings at Paomata Centre and at Rikhumai Taphou.

He also laid foundation stones for construction of synthetic football turf at Senapati public ground.

District Youth Skilling, Entrepreneurship and Employment Centre.

Senapati and Indigenous Sports Complex at Maram Khunou.

Speaking as chief guest of the event.

CM Biren asserted that lying of the synthetic football turf at Senapati public ground and setting up of indigenous sports complex at Maram Khunou are very close to his heart.

He also assured that the two projects will be delivered to the people before the Election Code of Conduct for the 2024 Parliamentary Election come into effect.

Stating that lack of interactions between the govern -ment and public will create trust deficit, the chief minis ter said that the Go to Hills, Go to Village and Meeyamgi Numit programmes were launched to bridge this gap.

The chief minister, who inspected the district Meeyamgi Numit ana Hill Leaders' Day underway at the district headquarters on his way to the official venue, also expressed happiness on learning that around 37,000 cards for Ayushman Bharat and Chief Minister's Hakshel Gi Tengbang have been distributed in the district.

The chief minister also highlighted several other projects being taken up in the district including construction of PHSC buildings at Chakumai, Chakha, Rajai mei, Sadim Ukhamai High School building, 50 bedded Girls' Hostel at Sardar Pa -tel H/S, Mao gate.

Primary School at Liyai H/S, Working Women Hostel at Senapati DHQ, SO bedded Girls'Hostel at Purul Hr.

Secondary School, SO bedded Girls' Hostel at I.iyai Khullen H/S, installation of Water Supply Line with Reservoir Tank at Senapati district hospital, installation of water supply line with reservoir tank at JNV, Mao, Staff Quarter at PHC Laii, PHC Building at Pudunamei, PHSC build ing at Maopundung, Model Residential School at Senapati District HQ, 100 bedded hostel at Residential School, Bendramai, PHC Building at Oinam Hill, etc.

The chief minister was accompanied by works minister Govin-das Konthoujam, TA & Hills minister Letpao Ha-okip, transport minister Khashim Vaslium, HAC chairman Dinganglung Gangmei, MLA Karam Shv am.

The formal function was also attended by DLOs, village authority leaders, CSO leaders, tribe leaders, students and villagers.

Losii Dikho and N Kavisii lauded the government for taking up developmental programmes in the nill districts with an aim to ensure equal development in the state.

With an aim to promote the youth of the state, most of the programmes and projects launched on Friday empha sised on youth, the MLAs said and urged the gathering to carry the message to every comer.

They also appealed to youth gathered at the event to contribute whatever they could for the state.

Karong MLA J Kumo Sha said that the chief minister has managed to bridge the gap between the hills and the valley.

He said that Senapati district is witnessing a huge change in development under the chief minister's leadership and people of the district have now come to realise that there can be development when peace prevails.

TA & Hills minister Let-pao Haokip, in his speech, stated that developmental programmes being taken up in Senapati district are part of 'Go to Hills' and *Go to village' programmes and the present government has been breaking down the bar riers between the hills and the valley by bringing them together as one.

The minister also urged people to support the present government so as to make all hill district head quarters similar to Imphal city in near future, which indeed is a dream of the present gov emment led by N Biren Singh.

In his speech, works minister Govindas Konthoujam stated that the Biren-led BJF 2.0 had delivered the projects to people and some more projects for Senapati district are beingtargeted to be completed within the next six months.

Upon their arrival, the chief minister and the dignitaries were accorded a warm wel come by the district admin istration led by DC Mahesh Chowdhury and public.

Ml lagers expressed their gratitude to the CM for opening of a UCO Bank branch at Phaibung Khullen and presented a me mento to the chief minister through the village authority.
