Imphal, October 20 2024: The Indian Army organised befitting commemorative programmes at Khurkul in Imphal West District and Bethel High SchoolinMoreh,Tengnoupal district on October 20 to pay homage to the gallant actions of the soldiers who laid down their lives while guarding the Nation during the Sino-India War of 1962.The programme commenced with solemn tributes to the bravehearts by lighting lamps.

Comprehensive presentations highlighting the historical significance of the day recounting the valiant saga and inspiring stories of the heroes in the true tradition upholding the ethos of the Indian Army were conducted, said PIB Defence Wing in a statement.

Young students attended the programmes and they were encouraged to draw inspiration from the gallant actions and selfless service of the heroes.

The events instilled a sense of patriotism among students, it said.
