MoU signed for skill-based training on agriculture

Imphal, May 14 2024:
The first multi-state cooperative society for agriculture for Manipur and Assam, under ministry of Cooperation, Bharathimanass Agriculture Cooperative Limited (Bharathimanassagricoop) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ICAR-ATARI (Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute) Umiam, Shillong, on Monday.
The MOU was signed by ICAR-ATARI Umiam director Dr AK Mohanty and Bharathimanassagricoop chairman Raghumani Khundrakpam, As per the MoU, ICAR-ATARI will provide skill based training programme and technical guidance for enhancing agricultural production, establishing food processing units for fruits, spices, vegetables and tea produced by members and stakeholders of society, technology inputs and other materials for the welfare of farming community and use of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) of the Umiam institute.
The MOU signing function was attended by directors of the society from Manipur, namely, P Ranapratap and Y Ramdiyu and from Assam, namely, Enali Hasnu and Ringbli.
According to Bharathimanassagricoop managing director Dr Ramanando Khundrakpam, the agreement will boost agricultural activities for enhancing production and food processing sector by producing hygienic and nutritious products for the benefit of common men and will also help in socio-economic uplift of the farming community.
