Imphal, August 03 2025: The United Tribal Council, Manipur (UTCM), has appealed to the State Government to issue an official notification for the selection and nomination of the Chairperson of the Manipur State Commission for Scheduled Tribes (MSCST).

In a press release, the UTCM claimed that the outgoing Chairperson of the MSCST, whose tenure ended last month, is seeking another extension of his service.

The Council stated that various tribal civil society organizations have submitted representations to the Governor, Chief Secretary and relevant authorities seeking the dismissal and termination of the Chairperson of MSCST.
