Imphal, September 01 2024: With the aim to address environmental challenges, enhance ecological balance and promote a greener future for generations to come, a tree plantation drive was conducted today at Waiton Awang Leikai Part-2, Imphal East The tree plantation drive was organised by Punna Hingminnaba Marup Waiton under the sponsorship of Khaidem Agro-Tourism Park.

It was participated by RK Amarjit Singh, Conservator of Forest (Central Circle): VS Nadhe, In-Charge, Central Forest Division; Raj Nongthombam, editor, SKTV; Khaidem Agro-Tourism Park founder, Khaidem Muhindro; renowned singers Hamom Sadananda and Oinam Swamykumar among others.

At the event, Khaidem Muhindro said that the plantation drive was organised with the aim to alleviate the impacts of deforestation and help in tackling the challenges of climate change.

He also emphasized the importance of tree planting as a vital step towards environmental conservation and called for sustained care of previously planted trees.
