Amidst the 48-hour hill district bandh, a rally was taken out today at Senapati Bazar in protest against the assault of T Robert Maram by the manager of Chingtam hotel and his 'henchmen' at North AOC in Imphal on September 13 .
Today's rally was organised by the Core Committee on the Assault and Life Attempt on T Robert Maram to protest against the assault of the public leader.
Before the rally was held, Core Committee members including its convenor Y.K.Kaping and Dailord, president of Senapati District Women Association (SDWA) Lolia, R.S Abel and others briefed the media on the matter.

"We want to maintain peace and because of this we have not taken up any drastic step on the matter till date.
However, our patience is being tested by the state government by not responding to our appeals," rued Y.K Kaping.
Narrating the sequence that had led to the September 13 incident, Y.K Kaping alleged the Chingtam Hotel manager had assaulted Rober Maram without rhyme and reason.
"We had investigated and cross-checked the incident minutely and it was established that the hotel manager in question had a gang," further alleged Y.K Kaping.
Core Committee member Dailord expressed that the attitude of the state government is questionable.
"The government who is the guardian of the people failed to address the problems faced by its citizens.
We have highlighted the matter in the media and also filed a case in this regard but the government has not intimated a word to the Core Committee formed in connection with the September 13 incident," said Dailord.
SDWA president Lolia said series of agitation will be initiated soon in protest against the September 13 incident and also against the attitude of the state government.
"The state government will be held sole responsibility in the event of any ugly situation arises," asserted Lolia.
T Robert Maram is a former general secretary of All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM).
He was also one time a sports secretary of Senapati District Sports Association.
At the moment, Robert Maram is the president of Senapati District Olympic Association.
