Medical Staff Quarters inaugurated in Tamenglong

Tamenglong, April 18 2011: The Chief Medical Officer's and staff quarters were finally inaugurated by K Panmei, DC, Tamenglong in the function where he was the chief guest and in the presence of C Arthur W, IAS SDO Tamenglong, Ward No IV Chairman and Secretary and medical staff members.

The quarters inaugurated today were two Type-IV quarters, two Type- III and one barrack type constructed under Special Assistant Plan, SPA fund in 2007- 2010 .

K Panmei said the quarters were most needed by doctors and nurses who were committed to work selflessly.

He said many doctors and nurses posted in the district, did not wish to come here due to lack of accommodation.

He appealed to all doctors and nurses to work with exemplary rendition of services.

The Trained Nurses Association Tamenglong expressed gratitude to the district administration for paying attention to their demands.

The association was upset with the CMO, Dr Saratchandra Singh who was not present in the function.

The association alleged that the CMO caused some problems by allotting quarters before completion of works.

Police had to evict these people to ensure proper completion and handing over of the quarters to the department, the president of the association said.

Rev Damthanlung, Pastor Taodai Fellowship led a prayer service and Dr Namjupou thanked the gathering.

Dr Chambo Gonmei, Superintendent District Hospital who led the programme also mentioned that the construction work was delayed by the errant contractor and due to frequent transfer and posting of CMOs and DCs.
