Rice lifted for migrants

Imphal, June 10 2020:
The Central Government, under the Atma Nirbhar Bharat package, has provided food grains free of cost, of 5 kgs of rice or wheat per person for May and June, to mitigate the plight of migrants/stranded migrants during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.
In addition to migrants, the scheme has also been extended to persons who are not covered under NFSA or persons without ration card in the State/UT, within the allotted ceiling.
The allocation for Manipur under the scheme for May and June is 2456.781 MT of rice.
The State Government has completed the lifting of the entire allotment on June 6 .
The scheme has to be implemented by June 15, 2020 and utilization certificate to be submitted by July 15, 2020 .
